What Are Peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the building blocks of proteins. Their small molecular size allows them to interact with cellular receptors, signaling pathways, and gene expression, making them subjects of active research across multiple biological disciplines.

Research peptides are sold for in vitro and laboratory research purposes only. They are not approved by the FDA for human use, therapeutic application, or dietary supplementation. All products sold by Country Road Peptides are labeled for research use only and are not intended for human consumption.

Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides offer superior stability during shipping and long-term storage. Reconstitution with an appropriate laboratory diluent is required prior to use in research applications. Liquid preparations are pre-reconstituted but have a shorter shelf life and greater sensitivity to temperature variation.

Every batch is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) from an independent third-party laboratory. COAs include HPLC purity data, mass spectrometry identity confirmation, and endotoxin testing results. COA documentation is available upon request for any product prior to purchase.

The appropriate diluent depends on the specific compound and the intended research application. Bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol in sterile water) is commonly used in laboratory settings due to its antimicrobial properties, which extend the usable life of reconstituted solutions. Researchers should consult published literature and standard laboratory protocols for their specific application.

Lyophilized peptides should be stored at −20°C or below and protected from light and moisture to maintain long-term stability — typically up to 24 months under proper conditions. Reconstituted solutions should be stored at 2–8°C and used within the timeframe specified in the relevant stability data. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided.

Currently we ship within the United States only. Regulatory requirements governing research compounds vary significantly by jurisdiction, and we are unable to guarantee compliance with local laws outside the US.
